Commended in LPOTY 2022
"Blue In Blackpool" Was commended in The Landscape Photographer of the Year 2022  in the Classic Section - This Long exposure taken in the blue hour is a 211 second exposure with the use of a Lee Filters ND filter. The picture was taken just south of the central pier around 21.50 hrs in May 2021 with the big wheel and funfair in full swing, I consider myself very lucky as this was a plan B that evening, 10 minutes later they pulled the plug and the whole scene was in darkness!
Lytham Jetty
Lytham St Anne's Lancashire Several months of planning and waiting for the right conditions finally paid off. The right cloud height coupled with a southerly wind, the correct tide high to capture the end of the jetty boardwalk before it's consumed by the rising tide, to also coincide with sunset and finally a wind speed of less than 4mph = Mission accomplished
Commended in SLPOTY 2022
Last Light At Dalmore Beach - My long exposure picture from The Isle Of Lewis on the Outer Hebrides was commended in the Scottish Landscape Photographer Of The Year 2022. This 81 second exposure captured the fading light as it lit the rocks and sea stacks up to the east side of this stunning little bay. The exquisite light along with the aqua seas and complementary colour pallet in the sky caught the eye of the judges out of several thousand submitted pictures
Runner Up - SLPOTY 2021
Truly thrilled to be awarded Runner Up prize in the ‘Scottish Landscape Photographer of The Year 2021’ Seascape section with my picture 'The Blue Hour - Isle Of Harris'. It will be published in this years SLPOTY book and displayed at a major exhibition. The annual competition includes some truly superb images taken from some of the most beautiful and stunning places Scotland has to offer. Pictures were submitted from photographers based all over the world earlier this year and I am honoured to receive such an award in the company of some of the best seascape photographers in the UK and overseas. My image, taken in the ‘blue hour’ just after sunset in mid-March 2020 was captured just before lockdown and for me evokes a real sense of tranquillity and serenity which the Outer Hebrides has to offer. It’s an 161 second long exposure captured with the use of the Lee Filters ProGlass IRND 10 stop filter.
